I've got a clump growing well, but in Canterbury I decided it may to too harsh for it in winter, so planted it in my greenhouse. It gets direct sun through the doorway. This may help. http://www.edible.co.nz/fruits.php!fruitid=12

Yes. Plant it in ground, water well and stand back. Protect from frosts if you want it to last through winter. It grows into big clumps over summer.I used to have some plants which took over but they got killed one winter.
