How to remove dirty footprints off asphalt drives?

We have been landscaping houses in a subdivision with clay soil and are having problems with footprints left on new asphalt drives. We have tried water blasting them and scrubbing them with detergent but they seem to be very difficult to remove.Does anyone have any tips for getting them off!

Over time the asphalt will become dirty and you won't see footprints. I suspect you can hurry up this process by sloshing dirty water over the whole area. I was going to try dust out of my vacuum cleaner for the new asphalt patches on my footpath.
