These caterpillar things are all over my plum and peach trees, can anyone tell me what they are and how to best get rid of them please!

Pear slug, any insecticide will deal to them, if still fruiting use one with short withholding period and not systemic

Yes -know as pear slug but not a slug; actually the young of the sawfly.A hose will knock them off too.Everything I've read says they they don't harm the tree but we had a young tree completely stripped of all leaves.They did come on again thankfully.I used neem oil on ours as we live rurally so no spare water to hose them off.
