Has anyone else grown these. if so, do you think they taste different. Have a plant, but nametag is lost, so dont know what the name is, but had my first ripe one on toast this morning. Rather different in taste, possibly more of the oldfashioned tomatoes. Some of them today, just have no flavour.

yes over here.;)
im giving them a shot for the first time this season. None ripe as yet (lucky you) but I have quite a few on my plants. funny looking oval footballs arent they.
A couple of things i've noticed is the plant is quite small compared to cocktails and big reds plus less on them but still exciting to grow something different all the same. Are yours growing the same way or is it just mine!

I have some. The plants have been well fed but are nowhere near the size of my other tomatoes.

I had them last year courtesy of my MIL but found that they werent very good keepers especially once cut.

I have grown Black Cherry, and Black Krim in the past. Both very tasty tomatoes.

I tried them in previous years but was unimpressed.

We grow Black Krim every year - love it best of all for the flavour, especially when it's been warmed on a sunny windowsill first.

How do you prefer to eat it stevee! sweet or savoury or just on its own!

We've grilled them with basil oil, sliced in a sandwich, sliced or cubed in salads, eaten whole from the vine, cubed on kebabs. I don't tend to use them in quiche or pasta dishes because we only grow one plant at a time so there are a limited number.

My tomatoes are hopeless this year, but in the past, Black Cherry has been prolific. I've had an abundance of fruit, about plum size with a definite tomato flavour. I used to take bags full of them wherever I went to vist and some of my friends couldn't wait for the following year to plant their own.

I grow Cherokee Purple, Cherokee Chocolate, Black Krim, Black Tulia and Bicolour Cherry every year without fail. They are always incredibly productive and unbelievably tasty.
