I have a split in my rose garden irrigation system and a couple of tops which have come off. Any advice about someone in ChCh to repair!

the joys of garden irrigation repair. It's the kind of job that everyone loves to hate. But fear not, my green-thumbed friend, with a little bit of know-how, you'll be able to tackle this task like a pro.

First things first, you'll need to locate the source of the problem. Is it a leaking hose or a busted sprinkler head? Is the problem caused by a misaligned valve or a clogged filter? Whatever the issue may be, don't let it get the best of you.

Once you've identified the problem, it's time to get your hands dirty. Start by turning off the water supply and releasing any excess pressure. Then, carefully remove the damaged part and replace it with a new one.

But before you go all "Bob the Builder" on your irrigation system, remember that safety comes first. Wear protective gloves and eye goggles to avoid any accidents. And don't forget to double-check that the new part is compatible with your existing system before installation.

If you're feeling confident, why not take this opportunity to upgrade your irrigation system? With a few modifications, you could save water and reduce your utility bills. Plus, you'll be doing your part for the environment.

In conclusion, garden irrigation repair may not be the most glamorous of tasks, but it's an essential part of maintaining a healthy garden. So put on your favorite gardening hat, grab your tools, and get ready to show that irrigation system who's boss!

depends what sort of irrigation we're talking about . Heavy duty professional underground stuff, or home do it yourself stuff. Both can be relatively easy to fix, but one might require specific tools that you don't have.

I can't do it myself so am looking for someone to get to do it. Checked the yellow pages but all seemed to be just installing systems.

ring one of them up. they will be able to suggest a repairer i'm sure. any helpful neigbours/family/friends. if its only above ground plastic type irrigation its only a 5 minute job to fix. could be a fairly large bill to get a pro to do it though.

Just ask a neighbour ,or ask at your local Bunnings for a handyman reference. You could replace the pipe line with one of the new foam soaker hoses ,they are great.

Thank you to all for your suggestions. I actually did fix this myself. Man at Bunnings was very helpful so $5 and 5 minutes later it was all fixed!
