Concrete water tank rim repair

wendalls, Mar 4, 11:33pm
I have tried to get someone to come and add an extra riser on to our tank as it is below ground level and gets contaminated in the winter with run off. The rim is disintegrating with every lid movement ie to refill or check the level. No one seems to want to do the job or else they have said they will give it a go but havent done it before. Has anyone else done this -or know what would be the best way to repair the rim first before adding the riser! We are in Greenhithe North Shore

Yes. The opening rim under the lid which we need to join the riser to is crumbling. Need to make it all water tight. I could post a picture tomorrow. The guy that fixed my uv light steriliser said he is an ex bricklayer and could plaster it up but thinks I should find someone who has done it before if possible.

Best to use 2 part epoxy mortar. Its pliable and easy to work with when soft, and when it goes off its harder than concrete and waterproof. I believe sika do a good one
