Stopped at Holdens Bay in Rotorua for lunch the other day and found gorgeous wee blue flowers int the grass there. Does anyone know what they are!

If they are star shaped and with leaves that look like tiny upright flaxes, then they're Sisyrichium bellum, or California blue-grass. Very pretty.

Pretty but very weedy too. Not a plant I would advise putting in the garden. You can buy larger growing plants of the same family but they do tend to seed freely so keep dead headed. Also available in yellow.
