Lemon Trees & Southerlies

I am hoping to plant a lemon tree.It will have to tolerate a southerly in winter. It will however be planted next to a fence, so it is not as though it will be out on it's own in the southerly feeling the full force of it!Does anyone have any experience with lemon trees please!

Put some strong stakes and wind break cloth shelter round it for the first 2 years.Support it with diagonal tree ties made from old nylon tights so it cant thrash or get loose in the ground and damage the roots .Plant in good compost ,and water well .Take most fruit off for the first year at least, then hand thin them to single fruit.

Lemons just don't like frost.
Wind shouldn't be a problem, just protect it a bit while it's small.

Yeah.they handle the frost better once bigger.just bay them while small.and Meyer is a good one for colder areas.

Mulch well around the roots too. If the fence is to the south, all good, as it's the south wind especially that the tree will need protection from.
