We have heaps of Agaves we don't want but can't put under lawn mower as they are too soft to mow. Would the leaves rot if you put in compost bin or just stay the same. Thanks for any ideas.

They should compost well, just chop them into shorter lengths with a machete or large knife to avoid having long fibres in your finished product.

Thanks for that. They are buggers. They don't even need soil to grow in after you pull the plant out. All I need now is to find out how to kill the plant itself. Ordinary weed spray does not work.

Watch out for some of the spiky ones, the sap can irritate the skin.
