Fish oil rust preventer - how long to dry?

sooby, Mar 23, 9:50pm
Hi guys,

How long does fish oil rust preventer take to dry? I coated metal parts with it about 5pm and it's still not dry, maybe I laid it on too thick?

How could I make it set faster?

Thanks

Maybe look at instructions on can?
Usually they say a couple of hours but I have found best to leave it for 12hrs,depending on air temp.
And yes light coats are best.
You cant make it set faster, just be patient.

I used on the inside of doors of a car I had years ago but I mixed it with Goldex steel primer to form a skin, cos I was trying to alleviate the smell. It worked O.K.

Its an oil and may form a surface skin , but I had a car that was Fisholeined and the insides of the doors were still sticky 10 years on
