Its wood, it will burn

It will burn and if free then go ahead, nothing to lose. Pretty solid wood so will probably burn long and slow but may need a bit of encouragement to keep it going.

You could get a nice ornament made from it for free should you donate the timber to a wood turner.

Mature timber from fruiting trees is usually very decorative.

It is fruit wood---people who smoke meat will pay extra for fruit wood usually apple but plum should be as good.

Plum wood is excellent firewood, will burn long even better than mac as long as it is DRY

It's a hardwood, and makes quite a decent firewood. Even better for smoking meat and fish.

Either way, saw it up, split it and stack it up to dry. It will be useful for something.

Even if it's not great burning it's bettter than the other option of paying to dump it no ?

I always thought plumb burnt hot, which is a bonus if that's the case.

I have recently cut down a plum tree and its shooting away again. I have found the timber is great for doing things in my shed. when it is machined to about 10mm thickness it can be bent in a horseshoe shape before it even looks like breaking, Would be good for a bit of furniture or some drawer fronts .Local shed guys would probably just about crawl over broken glass to get some.

Yes plum does burn but it is a great wood for wood turning. Hard and good colouration. hope you offer it to your local wood turners guild first.
