I understand the need to paint weather board, and I understand you may want to paint to your brick house, (but I woundn't as that is the whole point to me -no painting, specially if have tile roof and aluminum windows) so just wondering if the prep is all done, roughly how long does paint last on brick work? well no rotten boards to attend to.

for ever if the prep is done right. But will look a bit tired after ten years. Needs to be gently washed down every three months to get the best out of the paint

I would think it would be equivalent to a stucco house. Paint can look flat/faded over long time but keeps the seal against water getting through.

In my experience paint of any kind, when spilt on concrete or over painted onto brickwork, lasts much longer than on the intended timber surface.
