Thanks mortica,that was quick. I googled babaco. but it didn't highlight the sour taste,however it seems very healthy and I'll eat it.

Mum had friends in the early 80s growing new tropical fruits and these were one. They are a bit of an acquired taste but very pleasant for those who don't have a very sweet tooth and nice in fresh fruit salad with pineapple and passionfriut etc, if I remember correctly. I haven't had one in decades though.
