Shouldn't fess up to the beers - LOL. I had a friend who grew the biggest watermelons. His trick was to only grow them in clay- no fertiliser, nothing except water. Not tried it myself. Loved the video.

Thanks Jan. That's good to know re the no fertiliser. I will cut back on it :-) Yes, I had had quite a few beers last night and I'm surprised I managed to actually talk. Hubby is on call from tonight at work for the next week so no more beers for us for a week.
