Acanthus Mollis or Bears Breeches. To get rid of them I dig down deep taking out every tuber.

I think I acquired that from someone & yes it is hard to get rid of - every time you try to dig it out it just splits it up more! I guess you could try spraying it with extra strength roundup

Sorry, try this http://iforce.co.nz/i/g3ehokpb.0ll.jpg When it flowers it has a tall spiky flower, which is quite nice to look at. But seeds like no body's business. The next door neighbor planted one and now they are taking over my back garden.

If you like the look of the plant but don't want it to spread too much cut off the seed heads. These fire out seeds over large distances otherwise.

it grows really easily from root cuttings, so make sure you get ALL the roots
