Stag Horn Plant

I have an enormous stag horn plant, its so big its fallen off the fence I had it hanging on. Can it safely be divided up? And what could I attach each piece to? Anyone have any ideas? TIA

Thanks zac but I really needed to know how to divide them and alternatives to mounting them, other than a tree. I've googled and found some great ideas. Thanks anyway.

Soft Galvanised tie wire, available in small coils from hardware places is ideal to reattach to a tree or fence etc.
Divide so there is a crown of growing leaves on each divided part.
Obviously, where it is currently growing is an ideal spot for it with the right shade and moisture, so put one back there as insurance if your other divided ones don't survive. A banana peel draped over the top back of the fern every few weeks apparently gives good nourishment.

They grow well if put on to a piece of Punga. Just a medium size piece, they love banana skins, and make sure you keep the punga moist initially.
