the quote for a heatpump installation says that "electrical supply to be taken from existing household ciuruit on the understanding that electrical supply will be at its maximum.Any other load to this circuit may cause breaker to trip" It is difficult or impossible to access the switchboard im told. Sound like it will be an ongoing problem if not installed on own circuit breaker. comments please.

Agreed. Depending on what else is on the shared circuit, you may find that you get repeated tripping of a breaker. Especially if it's your fridge or some other high start-up load.

Yepespecially if load on when HP starts up .Could put a motor start MCB on itif all else is impossible
