Has Any one had experience with the Fabric Catchers that so many mowers seem to have.What are the advantages(lighter)or disadvantages( fragile) compared with the plastic ones.

I had one for years and it was fine, wore out sooner but worked fine as long as I washed it every so often. I found the dust clogged it and reduced airflow.

If they never got cleaned or dryed they would rot dont see many around now

One of my mowers has one. Is still as good as new. Wash it after most cuts and store it away after about 15 minutes drying. Advantage is stones wont hole it like a plastic catcher but make sure you store it in the shed because sunlight will deteriorate it.

If you are mowing dry dusty grass it becomes very dusty to use the mower, so need to use protective eye wear, they are very efficient being quite large.
