Makes the best cut flowers last for weeks in a vase.

There are some very lovely Alstromeria available now and they certainly stay put far better than the older varieties. A lot are far better for smaller gardens too as they do not get tall.

A florists 'filler' flower for bouquets.
Very nice, long lasting. Easy to work with, harmonises well with many designs.
Equally nice as fresh cut flowers to put in the vase as is.:-)

They grow into a clump but do spread. I pull the finished stalks out at ground level as they die right back when they are finished and look a bit messy. Not sure if they are hard to get rid of if you don't want them as I find them easy care, drought tolerant and pretty with it so have left them. Ours were here when we bought the place and have naturalised under trees nicely.
