Difficult to tell without knowing a bit more. It could be flax although I don't think so, but it could be a bulb of some sort something like an astelia. If it's astelia it will flower, yes. Eventually.

Not flax or Astelia but no answer for you. Foliage looks very bulb like but it is late for most bulbs to be coming up, thought of day lillies but unsure of foliage. Have a wee dig and see if they have bulbs or roots that could help.

Looks like onion weed to me, certainly not flax, the leaves are too soft.

i have that growing bettween my path and my house i have poured boiling water over it and i cant kill it and i have not been able to pull it out dont know what it is but i will be spraying it next

No, I went and broke some off to smell it after googling onion weed
it looks exactly like dwarf agapanthus-if the leaves are fleshy,it probably is. It should be flowering soon,as mine are in bud now.
