Heatpump technician here in

mizpizzy, Jan 23, 1:32pm
Hamilton. Heat-pump is not operating properly. On cooling & switching off after 20mins or so. Lights (red & green) flashing intermittently & there seems to be a sequence to the flashes. I need a technician. Can anyone recommend a reliable firm?

So air con tech here suggests: First clean the internal box filters, then clean down the external box fins/coil, make sure the garden etc is clear away fro the front. The turn the main power off then on. The flashing lights could mean anything and are specific to model, Have you tried googling your make and model for troubleshooting? Unfortunately mine doesn't so domestic but you could try Eastside. We use them for work stuff.

Yes, all the filters etc have been cleaned. Nothing restricting the outside unit. I will turn the main power switch off & see if it resets itself - thanks for that suggestion.

What brand is it? The model number could be handy as well if its still readable

Fujitsu model AST12LSACW
It's age I do not know but possibly as early as 2004.
I phoned Goldstar - they deal in Fujitsu but they are just too busy to assist - staffing issues.
It is an awkward time of the year with Christmas & short weeks and it is not life or death important. But it is blimmin hot here in Hams right now.

answer is in you r manual. you can also google the flashes. Its a major fault, so will be under warranty.

Ours did a series of flashes after not being used for 6 months. I googled the problem which suggested a major problem, yet turning it off outside and waiting 5 minutes then turning it on again sorted he problem.

Fujitsu is one of the brands I haven't had any training on sorry, you could always try eastside refrigeration as they are a bigger firm so should have someone available.
Im assuming you have tried turning the power switch off at the outside unit for at least 10 minutes to see if that helps?

also just check that the remote is set on cooling, and not coil dry or anything like that by mistake as that will turn off after 20 minutes
