Low level deck

We have built a verandah around one corner of our house. Part of it covers an area of concrete and part is a landscaped area of river stone.
Would like to deck the whole area with Kwila or Vitex. However, have read that decking should be at least 400mm above the ground to give proper ventilation and prevent warping and cupping. How can I get away with installing the 150 x 50 supporting joists at ground level! Cant go much higher or it will be above the floor

can you dig down!

You just need to use H4 or H5 treated 150 x 50 joists sitting on the ground. Have concrete pads under them for support. As long as the ends of the deck are not completely closed in you will have plenty of ventilation

Thanks Omamari, that was what I was thinking too.
