Lawn mower deck spindle bearing

pixma, Sep 3, 10:06am
I've pulled this spindle out of a john deere ride on which had issues with throwing the belt. fixed up everything else on it, this is the last part. there is a bit of play in the bearings, so I thought I'd replace them. Bit of a mission to get it off the deck. Any idea how to get into the thing. Can't see anywhere to crack it into two halves, so its a bang on the nut end?

The shaft should press out thru the bottom it will have 2 bearings in it with a spacer in between them ,an engineering shop should have the bearings .

I put it in the vice and gently tapped it out, haven't got the bearings out yet though. The shaft, or the bottom where the blade attaches to, is out of alignment a little bit. Will take it to the engineers and see if they can do anything with it.

Don't really want to buy a whole new spindle, the new ones must be lined with gold or something.
