Could anyone help with identifying this beautiful plant please. It was in the Butterfly Area at Te Puna Quarry Park. It's about 2m tall and covered in flowers. The bees and butterflies loved it.
Yep - I too think it is cosmos. Can get them in Yellow and various shades of pink too. they happily seed everywhere too.

I thought Cosmos too but cannot see a cosmos leaf anywhere. Maybe another pic would clarify.

Looks like a shasta daisy

The leaves are like dahlia leaves, nothing like cosmos leaves and the plant almost looks like a huge shrub, over 2m tall and just as wide.

Rudbeckia, echinacea, helianthus. From the look of the leaf, strong and maybe rough/hairy and the flower buds, it could be something along these lines

I agree with Maclad - Jerusalem artichokes are helianthus and they get pretty massive, so along the lines of rudbeckia, helianthus etc

Well done, I think that's it. I googled and it's also called 'Daisy Tree' which is certainly what it looks like.
Thanks everyone for your help.
