What about just a strip or two of the barbed wire along the top of your existing wire fence?

If you were closer OP I would give you a trailer load of sprayed blackberry canes which could be threaded into your mesh fence. They still have plenty of nice big barbs despite their slowly dying state.

Perfect! People are so PC nowadays I would do this! I wouldn't bother entering into negotiations with the so called parents. If the kids are coming over, looking in your garage, and not responding to you telling them off or asking what they are doing, well I can just imagine what the flippin parents are like!

Yep trying to negotiate with ferals is a hopeless exercise, better to just put up what ever security you need. A web cam plugged into your computer facing that direction is also a great way of deterring them. Might be a good idea to put a warning sign up so they can not use that as a pathetic excuse.

I would ring the police and report them. If you can take photos do. The parents are probably ferals too and need to step up and be parents to their brats.

op , resene have a anti intruder paint
from there site " Resene Sentinel is an anti-intruder paint based on lanolin that is coloured, greasy, unpleasant smelling and very difficult to remove from clothing
Areas coated with Resene Sentinel are difficult to climb and those that do attempt it find their fingerprints recorded in the coating and their clothes and skin marked with Resene Sentinel.

If unwanted guests are an issue in your neighbourhood and you don't want to resort to dangerous barbed wire or worse, Resene Sentinel can act as your silent watchdog instead "

No idea of its cost but could be something to think of

That sounds awesome! Op said a wire fence so they'd need to cap it or something.

Rags or rope soaked in creosote or bitumen and wound around into the top of the wire.

ETA bummer if the little mongrels (or their parents) set it on fire, though.

razor wire

Hot foot is good for that, get it on your hand and start wondering why you hands are feeling so hot, hard to get off too,

tony473, Nov 15, 6:56am
This or bougainvillea or climbing rose Dublin bay. The creosote or waste oil soaked rags sounds good too.

Little barstuards! In the UK we used that paint that never dries along the top of our 6ft fence and it certainly stopped any more ferals getting over (they were adults though) Love the idea of blackberry threaded through the wire, or you could use branches from lime trees. Mine have the nastiest thorns. Or even rose cuttings.

I would be so freaking wild if she-ites like that were ignoring me telling them to piss off my property. Maybe video them one time so you have evidence they ignored your warnings. Also put a beware of dog sign on fence to cover yourself a little.

nail some carpet smooth edge upside down with nails facing inwards
unobtrusive and I know it works
a friend had purchased a section that people were using as a shortcut to bus stop so he put up a 6 foot fence in the first week there were quite a few people who just climbed over it
stopped soon after smooth edge installed

The stock firms like PGG Wrightsons have a product called stop crib for horses that chew timber. You buy it by the tin. It is sticky, paint it on with a stiff pastry brush. It stays on for ages. It will wash out of clothes in hot water but if you get it on your hands and you rub your eyes or around your mouth it burns as it has really hot capsicum in it.

Why should you spend money to keep trespassers away? Blackberry is awful stuff. A visit to the parents might work as well.
