we have brought a new house and i am on a steep learning curve maintaining the pool .

i have noticed that the water level has recently seemed to be dropping , 10 or 20mm over 10 days , we have had a lot of wind and some hot days , i noticed no drop in winter . can i put this down to evaporation ? how often does one top up a pool
we havent started using it , its about 50k Liters 8m x 4

Hi bergkamp, with the wind & heat we've had it's sure to be evaporation. I used to have a 10,000L pond & it was amazing how the levels dropped in a NW or on a really hot day.

Sounds about right.

Easy way to check is to put a weighted bucket into pool (sat on steps or tied to ladder) & fill it so the water level matches the pool level. If evaporation it will fall at the same rate. If there's a pool leak the outside level will drop below the bucket level.
