Clover. Turfix works on any weed except grass in a lawn.

Thank you. So those little yellow flowers are clover ? Shows you how much I know about gardening. I always thought clover was just the green leaves - lol

The bees love it, honey bees and bumbles. I encourage it.

you have something else in there other than clover. not sure what it is, look kinda like the start of carrot weed.
give the lawn a spray with turfix for starters.

It's called 'creeping clover' and to get rid of it requires spraying three weekends in a row. I do a general spray of my lawn with weed and feed, (turfix)then fill up a small spray bottle with a mix and spot spray when required.
And I know this because I had it last year with some patches this year. The garden staff at the big orange place had no idea what it was. Google was my friend!

Sorry, but have never seen bees on this minute flower . The much larger white and pink clover attract them.
You're correct. The name morphed in the year since I learnt it! lol

Does it have prickles when seed heads form later on could be that prickly grass, dont know proper name. Horrible cant walk on it in bare feet. Dig a bit out and take to garden centre.

you are probably thinking of onehunga weed- appears as little compact low growing tufts with very fine leaves;, I don't think I can see that in OP's pic though
