I have a few fuchsias in pots that I have just brought inside. questions are will they be ok inside overwinter and theres quite a few hairy roots hanging out the bottom can I cut them off or do i have to repot?

Sounds like they have outgrown their pots, if roots out the bottom. Just looked up where you are, can you not put them out in the garden? They are not really delicate plants - I had a Fuchsia Nursery for 5 years, and kept stock and other plants just under shade cover. They seem to grow in most places, have seen them on the coast, and lots in New Plymouth when we lived there. Do not need to be inside. If they need to stay in pots, would repot to bigger pots, and put in a sheltered place outside, they like shade, so can put under a tree. May lose some leaves over winter, just trim back well after all danger of frost is passed, and they will send out new shoots.

As above but just ensure you do not prune them till later.

They grow really well from cuttings - if you trim, try it.
