Help with painting

flyingpencil, Apr 24, 8:03am
I painted my bathroom around 12 months ago - white.Something has been spilt on one of the walls and although not very noticeable, I thought I might just put another coat on to cover it.I assume the colour of the walls wouldn't have changed much in a year. But what preparation would I have to do!Just wash it with sugar soap!Do I need to give it a light sanding!Or do more!

bear in mind sugar soap is a very aggressive cleaner.Just wash walls with a mild detergent such as sunlight. Rinse wel. Sand to degloss currant paint. and recoat with proper bathroom paint.

If it's only a year you should be fine washing down the wall and repainting just that wall, it's unlikely to have changed that much in such a short time. After two or three years you'll have to do the whole room.
