Any info on the above would be great. Floor has some oil stains and is about 15 years old

Get some hydrochloric acid from Bunnings and wash the floor down, this will etch it and remove some of the stains etc. I would then use an epoxy floor paint (seach Trademe there are a number of sellers on here. I have used one for my current garage) and brush the edges / roller the rest. It gives a good hard wearing finish. You may find it could lift in some of the areas where the oil has been, or where hot car tyres rest. All in all its a great way to keep down the dust and have a nice looking garage floor.

Are there any tough linings or vinyls that would be suitable to glue down to a garage floor ?

My concrete garage floor is laid directly on the ground, hence moisture came through in the winter. I painted the concrete with a waterproofing sealer and then used paving paint on top. Had no troubles since (about 2 years).

you can lay a tough marine carpet on garage floors. need to make sure moisture isn't an issue though.

Thanks, but I'd prefer a smooth sweepable surface.
