way to keep on top of them! can anyone suggest anything pls esp for around vege garden so not keen on using chemicals

don't use salt on the vege garden, or vinegar.If it's the path around the vege garden, you might be ok.If it's in the vege garden, then the reality is, you need to keep on top of them.Whip the hoe through twice a week, it only takes 2 minutes.Also mulch with pea straw to stop the light getting to the soil and stop weeds from germinating.If the path around, then boiling water, or burn them with a weed flame thrower.

I use a mulch of old newspaper about 5 - 10 pages thick with old calfshed shaving on top to hold it all down, also dont dig the soil to aviod exposing new weed seeds. Just keep layering fert and mulch every year.
