Cleaning a hedgetrimmer

bjane, Mar 18, 3:55am
Hi, does anybody have any good ideas on getting the buildup (especially from buxus) off the blades of the petrol hedgecutter! have tried Crc with little success and was wondering if there was a product out there that could be helpful with use every time. (Yes i know elbow grease will be a factor! just trying to make the job easier each time.) Thanks

Stihl say they stock a 'resin solvent' product that does it.
No idea what's in it though.
-it could have a white spirits/lighter fuel basis as that will clean off gum. Needs spraying on blades to soften, then elbow grease with a brush and cloth.

- you can get White Spirits at gas stations.
Another product worth trying, although I haven't tried it, would be a spray can of Brake Clean for cars from Repco etc. That usually shifts anything.

Ah ok thanks for that, will give them a try:)

Crc dries out .buy the grease in a spray can and spray onto the blades.
Do this after you have cleaned it up .problem gone.
