Building a sandpit out of treated pine, is it ok to leave in it's natural treated state or does it need to be sealed for toxicity purposes!

Can't really see a problem with toxicity, I know kids eat sand but do not think they would eat enough for any harmful toxins to be a problem. Up to you I guess and what you choose to expose the kids to.

It's fine, the kids will eat the sand, not the timber. I lined ours with polythene to keep the sand dry but I guess it also provides a barrier to the timber as well.

Biggest problem with sandpits is leaving them uncovered and kitty cat comes along and buries a couple of new toys for your kids to play with.

So you don't think the chemical in the timber treatment would leach out and get on the kids hands! Thats what I am worried about so therfore thinking maybe I should seal it first.

Me thinks you worry too much, in the nicest way. It won't be a problem
