It rained here last night so as I said in my above post when it's the choice bewteen garden and dishes garden wins.Last night with all the rain I did the dishes :)So that's me sorted again for a while.I have lived for many years in WA and water in the outbacks is never to be wasted. If you are worried about wastage another trick is a brick in your toilet systen (sp) that works a treat and cuts down useage. Hardly find a loo over there with out one.

When the nights are cool, I can get about 15 litre from my roof, from the dew, so put one of those diverters on and catch that, and thats just from half the roof of a very very small shack, save or collectsoft drink bottles, fill and invert with a small hole in the lid so that it slowly trickles out, when the bottle is buried up to its shoulder in the soil next to your bushes/trees, far better to get a slow drink than one that is gone in seconds. OR cut the bottom off and then pour your grey waters into those containers when in place. a chore and a bore but you will then have greenery at the end of this season

You cant not top it up as it has a fllter system that will blow up or would turn green and be very expensive to put right again. Unless we were to fill it in which we def. Arent going to do. We have to wear the cost of refills in a drought which luckily are available and luckily we can afford. Doesnt mean we use it willy nilly otherwise.

The light showers that we were told would happen by MetVu didn't. Now we are looking at another 8 days with no water. Bugger.
