Some plant help please?

Hi- I have my first garden ( yippee) but to say I am a novice is an understatement!
I have found what I think it an Aloe Vera plant - if I upload a pic could some one please confirm that it is and tell me if I can save it please!
I would be really grateful.
Thanks

I believe it is one of the 500 species of Aloe, but not, I think, Aloe Vera.

I'd say it's aloe arborescens, or candleabra aloe.Bright orange flowers that spike up like candles

Looks like an aloe vera to me. It's the one I usefor sunburn, itchy skin etc!

Wow thanks for all the replies - so its not the one used for burns etc!

It's not Aloe vera, probably either the hybrid which is commonly sold as A. vera or A aborescens as other people have noted.
You can still use the gel from the leaves for burns and minor scratches.
Lots of the Aloe species have similar properties.
