Suntuff polycarbonate for end of deck windbreak ?-

OK or not! Have corrugated see thru stuff-small corrugations laid horizontally at Sw end of deck which is great but is at the end of it's life-brittle and now can't see through and through experience, shatters and is sharp as glass. I am in a high wind area and need to replace it. Will Suntuff do the job!-I will install vertically and replace the supporting timbers at the same time.

Should be fine - polycarb is a much tougher product than the cheapo plastic stuff you can buy for $10 a sheet. I'd screw fix every crest or pan top and bottom with decent polycarb dome washers (or a profile washer/epdm combo if you want to really hold it down), and hit 1 / miss 1 through the middle. Don't forget to oversize the holes to allow for movement and avoid cracking (8mm is recommended).

That's very tidy, what's the name of this stuff !

As far a joining it to be waterproof, if the join is halfway on a rafter, get a piece of timber, about 50mmx10 to go over the join and stick a strip of waterproofing foam on each side of its 'flat' before screwing that down, like its done for wooden conservatories.
If the join is not on a rafter.put one, or something to screw into.

Great! Yes midget8, have had no issues with my polyc and I reckon it looks great.

Thanks Zak for advice. The joins are on the rafters and it doesn't leak badly, but good to have some tips on how to improve it.

Not sure what the product was called, but it's about 5mm thick. Sorry that's not much help!
