Can you buy knobs only, without the latch?

Howdy,

We are modernising our 70's style door knobs with newer knobs or handles and were hoping to buy a doorset without the latchset, as the existing latchsets are fine and don't need replacing.

Are there knobs or handles available for sale without the latchset!

We're hoping something was out there to help keep costs down.

Keen to hear any advice and ideas,
Thanks!

Yes , they are called dummy handles BUT chances are they wont fit as all handles ( probably not all but seems like it) have different size holes or different fixings distance etc. And you dont have to buy expensive. Dont think Ive ever looked at handles in a house and thought "Oooh they're from 1970 or Ooh they're cheap" As long as they are brushed stainless you can buy cheap from bunnings.

You get what you pay for.
If you buy them for $16/set they will be poor quality, go wobbly after a short time, and only last a year at the max.
Most door handles from hardware stores etc come as a set, latch included, and if it's only cheapies that you're buying anyway, just throw the new latch away - your ones from the 70's will easily outlast a cheap replacement.
In My Opinion I would go with a quality brand - eg Windsor/Legge but note they even these brand have a lower quality economy range.
