Wht is a legal splashback for a gas hob! Was thinking like this.http://esdesignwellingto-

But we have gas obviously

Would it be easier to just paint that wall with a same colour painted splashback!

Safety glass.
Your local glass merchant will measure, order and arrange annealing of the glass then the fitting
Suggest you also arrange for the back of the glass to be coloured with a colour of your choice and that could also be speckled with reflective particles.
Looks good when installed.
Just depends how much you want to spend.

Coloured safety glass using one of the dominant colours from the surrounding wallpaper is another way to go (also sent you an email :) )

Stainless steel gets my vote.

Wallpaper is totally unacceptable and does not compy. Glass, stainless steel or tiles

We bought a glass one from Mitre 10, they have them in ready cut sizes in loads of colours and threw in a tube of adhesive.

Coloured glass, tiles or stainless.Glass is easy to keep clean.Rangehood needs to be 750mm from bench, therefore splashback is 750mm high. You can use a good quality double sided tape to fix to wall.

You can always put glass over the wallpaper - that's what they've done in the second photo in your link.Just need to be aware that clear glass is not colourless and may tint it a bit.

I rang someone about doing glass over wallpaper, but they said there needs to be a gap between the glass and the wall if its clear glass. Not sure why, but it encapsulates the bugs!

Have decided on white subway tiles.

E.scape glass from invercargill to custom textured glass splashbacks, can bolt to the wall to change the paint colour behind you just undo the screws. Mould you own kids baby feet and hands into a thick glass splashback. Only people in NZ doing this kind of glass.

I don't like the current craze of gluing them on. While thats the same as tiles, if you want to get rid of that garish red that has gone out of fashion in five to ten years, you are going to break the glass getting it off to change the colour painted on the rear side of the glass. So new glass and a gib and plastering job to repair the damage to the wall.

Splashbacks that are glued to gib are easliy pulled off without breaking,re painting them is never a cost effective thing to do and not many companys would want the hassle of stripping it and redoing it,even the manufacturers when they get a colour wrong will just do up a new bit of glass instead of stripping and repainting the incorrect piece
