Wood fire replacement

Our trusty nearly 30 year old Kent Forrester is falling apart - it had a major internal repair about 10 years ago but now the roof above the fire box and damper have fallen apart and it's really just like an incinerator.
We've been looking around and with the current free flue kit specials have narrowed our choice down to a Metro or Masport brand, both NZ made. Some of the other players in the market like Jayline are now poduced in China!
I have read the latest Consumer data base listsbut am interested in in peoples experiences / comments on the various models. We like the R5000 Masport.
Also we live in a rural bush environment - can't even see any other houses - but can't legally install an overnight model as our property isn't 2 hectares or more - but are aware that some models can be "tinkered with!"
