I have a Romesse Wood Burner in my house (it is older than anyone one here) with Gib-board walls. Can anyone suggest what I can use for heat protection on the walls please!

Mini-corrugated metal sheet, if you like the look. Hardiglaze! May pay to check with your local council for what is acceptable! Might be an issue if you sell the house.
If the fire is so old why is it only a problem now!
