I find two large Labradors to be an excellent cat repellant.

OMG get over yourself.

The best solution is not let it get to you!Short of getting a dog the various remedies are not worth the hassle.

You could try all sorts of things. Make a big deal out of it, but its silly to get yourself all twisted up about something you are unlikely to stop.

the kind of attitude that get some people trap and dispose trespassing animals rather than dealing with their uppity owner.

Another smell animals detest is creme Karma perfume.

Moth balls, plenty of them, $2 shop. Best buy.

I put bamboo skewers into my vege patches about 10cm apart so they don't have room to squat without getting a skewer right up the blurter.

When the veges have grown a bit I lay the skewers flat in crisscross manner. Touch wood, haven't had one cat deposit yet. They don't like walking on the flat skewers - twigs also work. They need about 30cm to turn around a few times and swat so don't leave them enough room between the skewers or twigs.

Plant the garden out closer spaced as cats like to have a bit of room when they go. Also when not able to do that as in when first planting then make sure the soil is kept well moist as the cats far prefer dry soil. Do that and they will find a better place like the neighbours garden.

Some playcentres/playgroups use a net cover or a piece of plywood. Ends up cheaper long term than repellant :)
