Can you swap an "out of test" gas bottle?

What sort of gas bottles does SWAP'n'GO accept for swap?

You can swap any brand of 9kg (nominal size) gas bottle and we even accept gas bottles that are out of date (expired test date) that cannot be refilled without re-inspection.There are some basic requirements to swap:

The bottle must have a foot ring and protective valve collar/handle
It must have a normal BBQ valve installed. We do not accept cylinders with Primus valves
Excessive dents, gouges, rust or other damages are not acceptable.

yes you can. The bottles are recertified when they are returned to the gas companies for refilling

Any out of date bottle can be swapped, but some suppliers will not take rusted bottles.

And you can still use an out of date bottle. The test date just prohibits refilling them. Not using them. That’s why the swap a bottle system was started. And they check and retest as required. The won’t accept badly rusted or damaged cylinders.
