We don’t have hot water (electric hot water) now yes it could be the element, but i had a door sales man come to my door a week ago and I stupidly signed up for another power company. After talking with my Husband, we canceled this contract, change over should have been today. Everything else is fine so I’m thinking it isn’t that?. We have 2 meters day/night. Could it be our power company controlling it? So they aren’t supplying power to it? I’ve no idea. Any thoughts?

Ring your Old power supplier and ensure you,re still connected .If so check the water heating is turned on and if the meter is turning.Could be a miscommunication between your old and "new" suppliers.

We had ripple control? Due to cold weather I’m assuming the lines company shut it off for a period of time. Never happened before. We have hot water again now though :) Thanks for your help

We have ripple control, with an indicator light to show when it's turned off. I see that the power to my water heater was turned off for a few hours last night when the weather was very cold. The ripple control has otherwise not been turned off in the past year. Since it takes only a couple of hours to heat my cylinder, it doesn't matter.
