Well I did my own. Pull it out, plug in new one. It's a plug in thing.
Would you get an electrician to change a light bulb?

No, but I do not know what is involved (have to look at You Tube). Thank you.

Make sure that you pull the correct fuse/breaker and keep it somewhere safe(from others) while you do the job.

If you are competent and have correct test gear you as a home owner can do it. Changing a simmerstat is pretty straight forward.

it is straight forward. Take picture before you start and follow the wiring of the picture.

sme ovens have a false front panel and the nut that holds the simmerstat is recessed so you will/may need a long tube socket or long nose pliers, very dextrous fingers, lots of patience, and a general understanding of how things work, my advice from 45 yrs as a sparky, if you are the least bit apprehensive , call an electrician or appliance serviceman., oh almost forgot if the front panel is double skinned and the locknut drops down you will need a piece of hooked wire to retreive it.

almost forgot, if you hook up the new simmerstat wrong, and turn the power on, chances are you will destroy it, and the "savings" by DIY.
