Diy disaster

Firstly on always asking diy questions sorry, is there another forum about diy?
To my question anyway. We decided to take if tiles behind our stove as we wanted a glass splashback.
Unfourtatley the removal process did not go smoothly and chunks of the plasterboard came of with the tile, in 3 places we have holes.
Now we have to repair the said wall 600mm x600m roughly. Is is best to just cut the rest of the plasterboard out and replace that piece or try and fill the holes.
I'm thinking option a is best, husband I a she'll be right we will patch the holes.
This will be have a splashback attached to it once repaired.
P.s my husband is not doing any more diy! Lol

My husband would replace the gib rather than patch.

it must be a guy thing, mine would patch the holes too. Personally, I would replace the whole piece especially as a splash back will be stuck to it.

Yep when it's badly damaged, it's best to take a much larger sheet out.
At least cut back to the next set of framing etc so it's got a solid foundation to sit on.
