Low pressure fittings on mains pressure?

Howdy guys,

We are looking at replacing low pressure hot water cylinder with mains pressure cylinder while renovating bathroom, how will the rest of the houses low pressure fittings handle mains pressure?

Not looking to replace kitchen and laundry taps yet, but thinking it might have to happen or face problems!

afaik fittings are fine. the problem is the mixers. if you have decent unequal pressure mixers then they will need to be changed to all pressure or high pressure mixers.
as always check with the plumber who is doing the hot water cylinder.

nah. low to mains is fine. Its when you have mains mixers on low pressure you get the issues.
Other way round, no worries.

Our mains pressure is so high that we had problem with most tap washers wearing out and taps making loud noises. So I put a pressure reducing valve in the main pipe to the house, and that cured everything.

If you had unequal pressure at the mixer the cold may have a flow restricter that needs to come out.

Did you compromise the pressure much? Did you maintain a good flow for showers etc.
