Why not just put an ant bait in the pot? To stop others coming in, stand the pot in a dish of water- put stones in for the pot to rest on if you don't want the base in contact with water. Ants don't swim.

Soak pots in a water bath, or a large bucket for ten minutes.
I was horrified to find a large ants nest in a set of drawers in the garage the other day.
Since the public registrations are closed, you must have an invite from a current member to be able to register and post in this thread.
