Our 10kw Fujitsu heat pump was installed about 3 weeks ago, I have heard a gurgling type noise a couple of times. Is this normal or should I be abit worried?

10kw nice!, talk to your installer. What did that beast cost installed?

We were quoted a 9kw for $4080 back to back install but they couldn’t supply one for a few weeks so we were upgraded to a 10kw for the same cost. We’ve had some hard frosts and it’s going really well.

It may be going into defrost, is it a hard gurgle or soft gurgle? Secondly, it’s a Fujitsu, they ain’t the best so a gurgle or 2 after 3 weeks might be normal.

I would say it’s a soft gurgle.

why is this brand not good?

I didn't say Fujitsu were not good, I stated they are not the best. Daiken or Mitsubishi would be the most reliable.

My fridge makes gurgling noises. A fridge is a small heat pump, so I guess that's normal.

Daiken are best when you have frosty weather. Ours did a little gurgle last night but it was minus 6. We put the fire on instead.

+1. …. the others can't withstand south island freezing frosts

Ours has done really well in the recent hard frosts heating a 110sqm house - the layout helps with this - set on 19. Wasn’t defrosting or blowing on high fan speed all the time, just idled away on a mid fan speed.

Quite normal usualyl when it switches off & pressures are equalising . . More so on long pipe runs

Our daiken does this occasionally when it gets really cold, after a few minutes of gurgling it switches back on again. It’s 10yrs old and has done this since new, quite normal I’m told.
