Amaryllis belladonna seeds

I have lots of Amaryllis belladonna (Naked lady) seeds.
I usually divide the bulbs, but I was wondering about growing from the seeds.

I've grown Haemanthus Amaryllis seeds from seed pods. When they brown and start to split you can collect the seeds.
They are usually black and flakey. I floated them on water and they spout easily. I used Chinese containers and put the lids on. I have tried with holes in the lids and no holes makes no difference.
I've got 3 containers to put into soil now so must do those soon.
One guy on YouTube places them around the edge of a plant pot to support the leaf when it grows.
Apparently they can take 2 to 3 years to flower from seed.

You can see the seeds in the container sowed 24.2.18 and the ones in the pots I put in the water 6.1.18 so you can see they've grown a lot.
The birds dug some of the others out

The seeds I've had growing in the water since 24.2.18 I should have planted out by now and I mean to do those in the next few days.
The birds pull them out looking for grubs so I'll have to protect them.
The first lot I put in soil are doing really well.
Apparently the seeds don't keep well and best to do them fairly quickly as in the wild the pod splits and the wind carries them and when they land they sprout fairly quickly.
Hope this helps

Sorry I've just realised these seeds are different to mine.
Probably the same principle but need to go in soil.
I did sprout a paint brush lily (seed looks similar) which I just put on damp soil and it has come away really well and now has two plants.
