I pick mine when they're about as big as an egg. certainly not as large as a tennis ball as they get dry. They need careful watching as once they get pollinated they seem to grow very quickly.

there are several varieties. Suggest you pick the biggest and the next size down and see which you like.

Mine are ripe when they are about baseball sized . We get about 60 a season per plant

Ditto. We don't get 60 per plant, but ours are also at there best when about baseball size, or the size of a orange.
